The Mona Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and protection of primates confiscated by the authorities, which have been illegally captured and are being used for commercial or personal purposes. Most primates are being exploited by private collections, zoos, circuses and tourist attractions. It is located 5 km from Can Piferrer. The Foundation has established a center for the recovery of primates in the wild that serves as a home for rescued primates and is a place to understand and respect wild animals and the fact that they must live in their natural habitat.
